At least there were 3 rings

So it wasn't THE GREATEST show on earth... But the Shriners put on what Kevin and I would describe as "a fairly decent show on earth."

Leah's first circus was the Shrine circus at the Garland event center. This girl thought it was pretty cool.

If we get free (or really cheap) tickets to something... anything, really... we are there! :)

I was seriously impressed by this hand-standing elephant. He stood on his front legs for like 60 seconds!!!

Is there anything better than your very first taste of cotton candy?

Leah doesn't think so.

Look at her grow... 3 year old check up

On our way for a big 3 year old check up... Back in February

The best part of going to to see our doctor...

Giant building blocks in the waiting room...

Fast as fast can be!

"Look at me! I'm THREE!"

She's sweet... and petite!
10th %ile on the Height and Weight charts
10 I said!!! Not 100th percentile like her daddy and I always were growing up. 10th!!!!
27 lbs and 35 inches

Vision is great! She was happy to put a spoon on her eye and read the eye chart full of umbrellas, apples and houses. 20/40 vision is apparently normal at her age? Who knew? Her hearing checked out well too... though a bit selective. :)

She brought her stethoscope to the appointment to show everyone that she can take blood pressure too!

Dr. D said... She feels healthy...
She sounds healthy...
And she has GREAT balance!
She is 3 going on 30. I don't know what to do with her these days! But I am thinking that whatever went around certainly is coming back around... So my mother likes to remind me anyway. ;-)

I'd rather be near

Easter is my favorite holiday. I think its because I was once SO far away from God. And I remember how it felt. But now He has changed my whole life! I know God personally and talk to Him daily and hear from Him too... And I am only able because of what happened that very first Easter Sunday morning!

"But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ."(Ephesians 2:13 NIV)

Praise be to God!

baby leslie and baby abby

Leah always wants to hear stories. Don't worry, she will pick the topic for you. Yesterday these were just some of the topics she asked about throughout the afternoon. "Mommy, tell me a story about..."

-flowers and all different colors of flowers
-princesses
-princess Addison
-princess Anna
-a doggie
-when I was in your tummy
-when I was a baby
-when Mommy was baby abby
-when Aunt Leslie was baby leslie

And those are just the ones I remember...

I have no story right now, but here is a little picture of baby leslie and baby abby. At about ages 4 and 2.

she did turn 3!

Though there was no evidence on this here blog... Leah Curley did in fact turn 3 years old on February 9! For her birthday, you'll remember, I gave her a virus. Here she is getting ready to decorate her cake with a 102 temp and a cough...She doesn't look sick! But her cough was getting nasty... so she got her very own little cake to decorate (and cough all over) to her heart's content. That night after work... her daddy brought her some purple tulips and a beee-utiful princess baloon that is still surviving in her room today. Miss Tami, at Daddy's office, also sent Leah a birthday present... it was a BUNCH of goodies... like lipstick...and a Barbie, among other things. We love Miss Tami, she is a sweetie!A day or two later my parents ventured into the cespool to bring Leah's doctor kit over. (Pops would later come down with the dreaded virus.) And you can also see the awesome CD player/microphones that Giggle and Granstan gave as a birthday gift... early, thank goodness... they stayed away from the germie family and avoided the bug. Leah got the coolest gifts this year! Aunt Leslie found a fun sunshine CD case to hold all of Leah's music. By the time Saturday came around, the little one still had a fever and nasty cough, so we cancelled the Gymboree Play and Music birthday party that Mommy was so excited about! :(

Leah understood why we cancelled, and didn't seem terribly upset that day. Along with other new toys, she had a new set of crayons to play with... she didn't want us to put this "crossboard" away for several days. Anyone know what a crossboard is? And when we brought home the GIANT cake we had already ordered for the party... She decided that she wants to cancel parties more often! :)

Happy Birthday Sweet Angel!

A Little Bo Peep

Little BoPeep gives treats to the sheep.

Organic animal crackers,

And alfalfa.

And a treat for herself of course.

Donuts are just fuel for the gusty morning of kite flying ahead.

A little hoarder

Let's see what's behind closet door #1...

It's a little hoarder!! Reading about the Brother Bear's and Sister Bear's very messy room.

She has always done this... Do all kids?? She wants to put all the things she likes or might need in one pile and then sit and play surrounded by her treasures. Like the people on the tv shows!

The redeeming part of this is that her closet doesn't ever stay messy... she enjoys cleaning up too... If she is good and ready.

After I took this picture she actually said "Now would you please go away and shut the door of my hotel. That way I can finish my reading for my vacation."

This was when I opened the door 10 minutes later...

"As you can see here, my plate is empty and I am all done eating my breakfast."

LC quote of the day

To her daddy, while "working" in the flowerbeds:

"I need 10 more minutes to finish my work. Don't just stand there and look at me, I need to be alone to take care of the rest of my business, then we can have fruit snacks."

My hometown

If you are in a hurry to get your all your errands done after you drop off your wild game for processing, well have no fear! You can get your haircut, a burger meal and pick up a few pre-owned guns and some gently used jewelry before heading into the studio to lay down a few tracks. And don't forget to stop and have a nice relaxing smoke before you pick up your venison.

This is actually where Kevin used to have all his deer processed... And its where he produces all his records. ;)

A little wheeze

This video was a hidden camera operation. I was reading in the living room one night and Kevin decided to watch some of the "hunting videos" he and a friend had made while at the deer lease one weekend. He put on his headphones and hit play. He had no idea that once all the wheezing and hysteria began, I hit record on my phone's video camera. :) There was a point where the dusky, purple-ish color of his face actually had me worried, but I know CPR, so I kept rolling.

They say its a sign of good character if you can laugh at yourself. I'm not sure if this is what they mean...
