LC quote of the day

While making up silly songs and teaching them to her "friends" in her bedroom:

"If you want to make up your own silly, funny song, just go to PBS kids dot org and click on the green button... See ya there!"

LC quote of the day

I walked into the bathroom and found Leah with about 6 feet of toilet paper she was getting ready to use to finish her bathroom business.

I said to her "What are you doing with all that paper?"

And her answer was "Oh yeah, sorry. All that paper will clog up the potty... but... we have a plumber right?"

life goes on

Every 4 years I ponder these thoughts:
What did I do with my time before the Olympics started?  and...
What will I do after they are over?

I enjoy the Winter Olympics quite a bit too, but something about the Summer Olympics triggers my addictive personality like nothing else.  Maybe it was my childhood obsession with MaryLou Retton or my lifelong desire to become a triathlete (yes, I'm serious... not about training for this... just about desiring it) or maybe its simply because its too dang hot this time of year to go outside. There is a point in late July where it seems like its gotten too hot to even get ready and go to a pool...  Whatever the reason, our TV channel NEVER once turned from NBC or one of their affiliates for 17 full days. And just after the closing ceremonies last night we were already having withdrawals so we watched the gold medal ping pong match On Demand.

We watched ALOT of Olympics this year.  I decided if I was choosing a sport now, it would definitely be rowing. If I had a row boat... watch out world! Leah decided wants to do gymnastics and swimming and diving.  (Ok... first you have to jump off the side of the pool without whining though...) And Kevin is depressed because he realized we are too old to become Olympic athletes now... even if we tried really, really hard.

Today we went cold turkey... I let Leah watch Doc McStuffins this morning on Disney... she hasn't watched her favorite show at home in almost 3 weeks! And then we spent most of the day out of the house which helped the sweats and heart palpitations. We're gonna be alright...

As far as photos for this post, I have one randomly uploaded picture of Leah at the pool this summer... one of these days I will get blogger to upload my pictures again...
Until then...
