More 2012 - Pumpkin time at the arboretum

Its hard to beat pumpkin time at the Dallas Arboretum... especially on a nice day with a picnic lunch. Although tulip time is coming up, and that may be my favorite time, too.  :-)

More 2012 - a little bathing

One of Leah's favorite things to do is to get to take a LONG bath with lots of playing and lots of toys and bubbles.  Even though she loves it, before bathtime most nights when we say its time she will say "I don't think I need a bath...here, smell me mommy!"

In her bathtub...

In her bathtub at Bibby's house...

In our jetted tub with REAL bubbles.  :)

It is a TREAT to get to bathe in our tub... and daddy has to do this because I can't reach over the tub anymore... its hard enough in a regular tub. She doesn't take a single toy into our tub when she goes... she just swims and splashes.  She is never ready for it to be over.

More 2012 - Disney Princesses on Ice

We went to see Disney on Ice again this year... this time we took Bibby (Giggle had company and couldn't join us, but they will get to go together soon!) Bibby bought Leah some cotton candy (for like $62 or something ridiculous.) And shortly after this photo was taken, I told Leah that was enough for now and she looked up at me with a blue, sugary, grimace and GROWLED at me!  Careful what you feed her when you go in April, Giggle!

Wearing her Mickey Mouse ears at breakfast the next morning...

More 2012 - A little posing

Much of the fall was spent with Leah saying "Mommy take my picture (doing this or that.)" "Now, can I see it?" Here are just a few of the requested photos she requested that I shoot... from my phone...

In the hallway with Beans...

With a picture she made...

In the garage with toys and dress-up clothes...

With her kitty cat face after our church picnic...

On the little ducks at Watters Creek...

In this racecar...

By a game...

Eating pizza... (she really liked this dress and wore it alot :)

Making a silly face...

Next to a giant sitting pig...

With some scarecrows...

On a bench at Hobby Lobby...

With the scarecrow at BSF...

Again... (There were about 50 of these...)

Riding a horse backwards at the park...

On an elephant...

Of her ponytail AND bow... this was a funny phase...
(She thought it was wonderful to have both, but always wanted to see it.)

Eating a brownie, with sugar lips...

By the Christmas tree...

And so so so many more...

More 2012 - A little shopping

While shopping is always a treat for me, going to Northpark is an extra special treat. Even though I do go there quite a bit, it brings back a nostalgic feeling from my childhood that I love. And for Leah it brings pure joy in the form of The Disney Store. On this particular day during a visit last year we both thought is was super duper double extra special because her favorite movie was playing on the big screen. (A few months later Sleeping Beauty and Aurora were replaced as her favorites by Brave's Princess Merida... The worlds coolest, sharp-shooting princess)

We love the fountain...

And the Corner Bakery...

And being together...

And being silly...

More 2012 - A little shot

Much of what I post is for me these days. I am just worried I will never make another scrapbook or photo album in my life and I will want to remember these moments.

Last year (flu season 2011-12)  Leah picked the flu mist. As soon as it was over she screamed "I changed my mind I want the shot I want the shot!!"  I reminded her of this when it was time again in 2012. She spent much time in contemplation in the days leading up to flu shot day.  And changed her mind dozens of times.  She finally decided on the shot. She decided she would be brave and try not to cry and that we would get a lot of ice cream when it was over.

I am so bad at self-portraits! She did cry a bit after it was over and I said "It's all over now, why are you crying?" she laughed and said "Oh! I don't know!" This made her giggle for days afterwards.

Her bravery definitely called for a trip to Northpark for a little... no alot... of Paciugo!

LC quote of the day

"Mommy, we are going to chuck e cheese? This is so exiting! It makes my breath go out of my body!"

"Is that kind of like when something takes your breath away?"

"Yes mommy, it's just a funny saying when something is so exciting it makes you go like this... (insert dramatic gasp here)!"

LC quote of the day

Leah:
Mommy, you know what I would like to see? A REAL CASTLE!!!! Are there any real castles around Texas? Because I want you and daddy to go with me."

Me:
Well, I don't think there are any real castles close by but one day daddy and I will take you to a real one.

Leah:
Ok well make sure you bring your pillow and everything because we are going to live there together.

Curley: Party of 3

We had our first and last professional family portriats as a family of 3.  Our wonderful photographer, Maria Holland, made this slideshow for us.
