Toes in the water

Flo Rida!

So we were finally able to drag Kevin away from work... for a week at the beach! I took so many pictures of so many firsts. As always, this is just a fraction of the pics we took... but still there are so many I decided to make them "small" so it would seem like fewer. :)

What a wonderful week. While it was cold and rainy at home, we enjoyed a week of 85 degree, warm but breezy days with our toes in the water and... well, you know. (The forecast predicted thunderstorms for our entire vacation... but we barely saw a cloud... the weather was heavenly!)

Some of our baggage...
Bout to board with a baby for the first time! Boy were Leah's parents nervous...

She sat with mama the whole time... on a teeny tiny airplane.
Finally at the beach! These are pictures on the back porch of our house for the week! The Curleys LOVE the beach!!
Gotta have a straw hat.
With her Bitty and Pops! The girl was held by someone the entire time! We're working on breaking that bad habit this week!
Peas in a pod... as always...

We saw some amazing sunsets.
But I only saw 1 sunrise... The sun comes up earlier in Florida!
Kevin walked right out into the gigantic waves and caught a bunch of fish. This time he caught 2 at once. They are Crevalle Jacks. :)

Leah watching her daddy...
Is there anything better than playing with your blocks by the ocean?

Shades...
Look at that happy little beach bum!
What a pair...

Getting in some last-minute-Pops-time.
We don't even call her Leah much anymore. Its Nosey Rosy!

Why is he so excited?
Cause we're finally home after a stressful airplane trip? No.
Because we had such a great vacation? No.
Because he loves getting on elevators? NO!
Its because he's holding the "loaner" carseat that the airline gave us after they lost ours. He's excited about trying to install it in the airport parking lot with no instructions. He loves a challenge!
Turns out it was pretty easy and he did a great job.
Nosey Rosy wore herself out last week. She needs a vacation!

things that make you go eeeew....

When this little girl put a dog bone in her mouth for the first time...

...And you know it won't be the last time.

Eeew!

(no, I did NOT take pictures of it... I screamed and threw up in my mouth a little bit)

nobody's gonna hold me down, oh no

I've got to keep on mov-in...

She scoots and rolls and lunges and jumps, and when she tries to crawl... she only goes backwards. So when she finally gets frustrated that the object of her desire is just getting further and further away, she barrel rolls over to it instead. Whatever works, right?

Oh, and please do NOT try to hold this girl down, make her lay down or even lean back... we have officially seen our little angel have her first temper fits!

Here's a taste of what little-miss-sweet-cheeks did during September.

Most of our pictures look like this these days. She's quite a little lunge-er and grabber. And quick... very very quick! (first I spelled it lunger, but that's what they used to call people with TB)

She's been talkin on the phone...

Playin with a whole mess of toys...

Trying her first raw apples... (with close supervision, nobody panic)

Lovin apples... what determination!

Organizing my makeup bag...

Contemplating mascara or no mascara...

Pulling up and crawling on anything and everything... (except the floor!)

Jamming to dad's ring tones... "The Entertainer" is the favorite...

Modeling the latest hat fashions for fall...

Project Puree - from A to Z

Our newest foods... it just gets more fun I tell ya!

Apples
Acorn squash
Barley
Bananas
Butternut squash
Nectarines
Pears
Prunes
Zucchini

I've been forgetting to take pictures of everything (I'll pretend you did NOT just sigh with relief) so here are just a few!

Bananas - this is my mom's famous recipe
  • 1 ripe banana
  • Mash with fork
  • Serve
"mmm... bananas... gimme!""Hmmm, I think I like it." "Yep, I like it... AND I like holding all my bath toys while I eat it."
Next!
I love the green ones... nice bright colors"No more green ones!!" (She actually LOVEs the zucchini squash and the yellow squash more than anything. She just HATEs everything right at first.) Pears and nectarines. This time I used Bosc Pears... be-u-ti-ful!
That's enough fun for now. Later!

tea

Oops.... I just noticed I forgot to publish this post a month ago! What's wrong with me?

So... once upon a time, Leah's Bitty had a birthday (August 31) For Bitty's birthday we took her to have French high tea. Just the girls.
Leah had a little too much to drink, as usual...
And when Bitty started throwing babies around the restraunt, we knew she'd had enough tea as well. As always... We had too much fun!
